Choose your Osaka ramen by neighbourhood and broth before chasing a score. For an Umeda stay, start with Nakatsu or Fukushima; around Shinsaibashi, look toward Yotsubashi and Nishi-Ohashi. Shin-Osaka and Nishinakajima have useful choices too, but a famous Osaka shop is not necessarily a short walk from Namba.
These 20 exact shops are all within Osaka City, covering shoyu, shio, miso, chicken paitan and tsukemen. Tabelog scores are from 12 October 2026 and all meet a 3.40 threshold. The order follows geography, not a numerical ranking. Scores, menus and admission arrangements can change, so check the shop’s current notice on the day.
20 Osaka ramen and tsukemen shops compared
Filter by station first, then noodle style. Walking times start at the specified station or exit and exclude internal transfers, queues and the meal itself.

The 20 restaurants in detail
1. Mugi to Mensuke (麦と麺助)
Make Mugi to Mensuke (麦と麺助) the focus of a meal when you want shoyu ramen rather than a quick stop between appointments. Look for pheasant shoyu ramen (キジ醤油そば), then choose any extras from that day’s selection. Special bowls also appear, but a photograph of a limited release is not a promise that it will be on the regular menu.
The Nakatsu address fits a day around northern Umeda and Chayamachi. A regular bowl and a special-menu session call for different planning: decide what kind of meal you want before arranging the rest of the day. Allowing this stop its own flexible window is easier than changing your plans at the entrance.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市北区 豊崎 3-4-12
- Getting there:About 3 minutes east on foot from Osaka Metro Nakatsu; use the Metro station, not Hankyu Nakatsu
- Reservations:Walk-ins accepted. Optional TableCheck FastPass: ¥800 per person, non-refundable, queue priority only, not a reserved seat. Food is paid separately in cash at the ticket machine on the day. Arrive on time: at 15 minutes late or more, the FastPass expires and you must join the back of the queue. The Saturday special page currently says booking launch will be announced
- Tabelog score:3.91
2. Ramen Yashichi (らーめん弥七)
At Ramen Yashichi (らーめん弥七), chicken paitan provides the base for different seasonings. The shoyu version combines it with a seafood-flavoured soy tare, while the shio option includes shiso. Start with shoyu ramen (醤油らーめん) or shio ramen (塩らーめん) if you want to compare the direction of the broth and seasoning before adding more toppings.
Choose this or nearby Mugi to Mensuke (麦と麺助) as your Nakatsu meal rather than trying to fit both into one sitting. Yashichi uses an on-site numbered-ticket system; follow the return instructions given by staff. A queue ticket is not an advance table reservation, so allow for both collecting it and returning to the shop.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市北区 豊崎 3-4-8
- Getting there:About 3 minutes from Osaka Metro Nakatsu Exit 1, or 10 minutes from Hankyu Osaka-Umeda's Chayamachi gate
- Reservations:No advance reservations; collect an on-site numbered ticket and return as instructed. A queue ticket does not reserve a seat
- Tabelog score:3.74
3. Ramen Jinsei JET (ラーメン人生JET)
Tori Nikomi Soba (鶏煮込みそば), a chicken-broth ramen, is the defining starting point at Ramen Jinsei JET (ラーメン人生JET) for anyone building a chicken-ramen itinerary. There are shoyu choices too, so companions do not have to approach JET as a one-broth restaurant. Decide on the chicken-led bowl or a soy-sauce direction first, then consider chashu and egg additions.
This is the Fukushima 7-chome shop, not another branch carrying the JET name. Its short walk from JR Fukushima makes it a practical separate meal during a stay around Umeda. Follow the shop’s instructions on when to buy your meal ticket and where to wait, rather than stepping through a queue simply because you can see the machine.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市福島区 福島 7-12-2
- Getting there:About 2 minutes from JR Loop Line Fukushima, or 5 minutes from JR Shin-Fukushima Exit 1
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.75
4. Moeyo Mensuke (燃えよ麺助)
The two useful menu directions at Moeyo Mensuke (燃えよ麺助) are Kishu Kamo Soba (紀州鴨そば), built around duck, and Kin-iro Kai Soba (金色貝そば), the shellfish option. Special versions change the topping arrangement; do not choose solely by how large a bowl looks in a photograph. This is a useful change of ingredient focus after several chicken-paitan meals.
The Fukushima 5-chome shop is a separate address from Mugi to Mensuke (麦と麺助) in Nakatsu, and its admission rules are different. It does not accept reservations. Pair it with plans near JR Fukushima or Shin-Fukushima, and settle on your main bowl before deciding whether to add a rice dish.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市福島区 福島 5-12-21
- Getting there:About 1 minute from JR Fukushima, or 2 minutes from JR Shin-Fukushima Exit 1 and Hanshin Fukushima
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.76
5. Menkobo Sanku (烈志笑魚油 麺香房 三く)
Start with Kake ramen (かけ) at Menkobo Sanku (烈志笑魚油 麺香房 三く) if dried-fish and seafood-led ramen interests you. The menu also lists tsukemen with whole-wheat or Hokkaido-made noodles, plus Shirotsubo (白壺) and Kurotsubo (黒壺) ramen. The useful first decision is therefore soup ramen versus dipping noodles, rather than assuming the shop serves only one fish-based bowl.
The Shin-Fukushima location can fit a day that also heads toward Nakanoshima. Leave flexibility afterward because this shop does not accept reservations. Treat seasonal dishes as a possible bonus, rather than making the journey solely for an old photograph of a chilled special.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市福島区 福島 2-6-5 AKパレス 1F
- Getting there:About 3 minutes from JR Shin-Fukushima Exit 2, or 5 minutes from JR Fukushima
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.73
6. Chuka Soba Mugen (中華そば 無限)

Chuka Soba Mugen (中華そば 無限) offers three clear starting points: whole-chicken shoyu chuka soba, shio combining chicken and seafood, and niboshi soba combining chicken with dried-fish stock. That structure is useful when companions want different styles. Oil-dressed abura soba (油そば) is another direction if you would rather have noodles without a bowl of soup.
The shop is in Ebie. Use JR Ebie, Nodahanshin or Hanshin Noda rather than heading to JR Fukushima simply because the address is in Fukushima Ward. Reservations are not accepted. Choose the broth first, then decide between the regular, egg-topped and special topping versions.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市福島区 海老江 5-5-10
- Getting there:About 3 minutes from JR Ebie Exit 2, or 4 minutes from Nodahanshin Exit 2
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.74
7. Sodaisho (総大醤)

Sodaisho (総大醤) is a good fit for a shoyu-ramen-and-fried-rice meal. Its Kurodaisho (黒大醤) uses re-brewed soy sauce from Yuasa; the choices also include koikuchi shoyu ramen (こいくち醤油ラーメン), natural-salt ramen and tsukemen. That makes it a useful stop for exploring soy-sauce styles. Add fried rice according to your appetite rather than treating it as compulsory.
The address works with a walk around Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome and Nakazakicho. When choosing a set, check which noodle dish is included and any supplement for switching it. The shop does not accept reservations, so give this meal a flexible place in your city itinerary.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市北区 浮田 2-4-16
- Getting there:About 3 minutes west from Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome Exit 11, or 5 minutes from Nakazakicho
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.73
8. Rakunijin (洛二神)
Rakunijin (洛二神) suits a meal focused on seafood and niboshi-style chuka soba. Look for dried-fish ramen such as Cho Niboshi Soba (超煮干そば) on the day’s menu. Seasonal thin-noodle tsukemen has also appeared, but a summer chilled special should not be treated as a year-round promise. Check the day’s choice if dipping noodles are your specific goal.
The Naniwacho address is conveniently approached from Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome. Combine the meal with a walk around the Tenma shopping streets, leaving other snacks for another part of the day. Reservations are not accepted; follow the queue arrangement you find at the shop.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市北区 浪花町 4-22 藤ビル 1F
- Getting there:About 3 minutes on foot from Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome, in Naniwacho
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.74
9. Gunjo (群青)
Gunjo (群青) is for diners who enjoy choosing from a changing daily menu. The selection can move between ramen and tsukemen; chicken-paitan-and-seafood dipping noodles are an example of a past offering, not a guaranteed everyday signature. Check the shop’s same-day announcement first if you will only be happy with one particular broth.
The entrance is in a narrow brick lane near Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome. Save the Japanese name and full address rather than relying only on a translated map search. Reservations are not accepted. Keep nearby Rakunijin (洛二神) or Sodaisho (総大醤) as options for another meal instead of assuming you can comfortably visit several shops back to back.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市北区 天神橋 6-3-26
- Getting there:About 1 minute from Tenjimbashisuji 6-chome Exit 1; take the narrow brick lane opposite the exit westward
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.73
10. Ramen Hayato (らーめん颯人)
Miso ramen makes Ramen Hayato (らーめん颯人) an easy way to vary a list dominated by shoyu and chicken paitan. The menu also includes soy-sauce-seasoned shoyu (しょうゆ) and salt-seasoned shio (しお), so companions can choose another seasoning rather than ordering identically. Decide on your bowl and extras before placing the order.
The listed house rules specify one ramen per person, no large-size ramen, and no additions or changes after ordering. This is worth understanding before you arrive. Reservations are not accepted and service ends when ingredients run out, so avoid putting this meal immediately before a connection you cannot afford to miss.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市北区 南森町 1-2-2
- Getting there:About 3 minutes from Minamimorimachi Exit 2; JR Osaka-Temmangu connects to this Metro exit underground
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.73
11. Chuka Soba Kazura (中華蕎麦 葛)
At Chuka Soba Kazura (中華蕎麦 葛), Dashi Soba (出し蕎麦) is the useful starting point. Despite the word soba, this is a ramen shop rather than a buckwheat-noodle restaurant. Chicken paitan, seafood dashi and the foamed surface distinguish the bowl. The location is practical when you want a noodle meal before continuing around Honmachi.
Honmachi spans several Metro lines, so approach from the Yotsubashi Line side instead of assuming every exit gives the same short walk. Everyone in your party must be present before joining the queue; late arrivals may not join someone already waiting. Reservations are not accepted.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市西区 阿波座 1-12-21 喜多ビル 1F
- Getting there:About 2 minutes from the Yotsubashi Line side of Honmachi; Exit 23 is close to the shop
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.74
12. Tori Soba Zagin Honten (鶏 soba 座銀 本店)

Tori Soba Zagin Honten (鶏 soba 座銀 本店) offers chicken paitan with shio or shoyu seasoning, plus chicken tsukemen. Choose according to whether you want a soup bowl or noodles served separately for dipping. The shop’s menu describes niboshi stock in its chicken soba, while the chicken tsukemen does not use seafood dashi; a chicken label alone does not describe every ingredient.
This is the Edobori main branch near Higobashi, useful for a day around Nakanoshima. A separate shellfish-dashi shio bowl is also listed, and it is not the same item as chicken-paitan shio. Read the full dish name before selecting toppings. The branch does not accept reservations.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市西区 江戸堀 1-19-2
- Getting there:About 2 minutes from Higobashi Exit 8
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.70
13. Kadoya Shokudo Sohonten (カドヤ食堂 総本店)
Kadoya Shokudo Sohonten (カドヤ食堂 総本店) gives you a clear choice between chuka soba (中華そば) and tsuke soba (つけそば). The former presents noodles and broth together; the latter lets you dip the noodles at your own pace. If you only plan one tsukemen meal in Osaka, this is a useful candidate to compare with the more broth-specific specialists elsewhere in the list.
Use the current Shinmachi address and Nishinagahori Station. Older references to a Tsurumi address do not describe this location. Reservations are not accepted, so give the meal its own flexible slot before continuing toward Horie or central Osaka. Seasonal chilled dishes depend on the day’s menu.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市西区 新町 4-16-13 キャピタル西長堀 1F
- Getting there:About 3 minutes from Nishinagahori Exit 4-A
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.83
14. Ikareta Noodle Fishtons (いかれたヌードル フィッシュトンズ)

Choose Ikareta Noodle Fishtons (いかれたヌードル フィッシュトンズ) for a seafood-tonkotsu tsukemen meal, with regular and special-topping versions as useful starting points. The separate noodles and dipping broth suit diners who want that style of eating. Seasonal chilled noodles and special projects are part of the shop’s repertoire, but should not be assumed available every day.
The Shinmachi address is close to Nishi-Ohashi and Yotsubashi, making it useful around Horie and Shinsaibashi. Dine-in reservations are not accepted. Takeaway-order instructions in the listing do not reserve a restaurant seat, so check the on-site queue procedure and noodle portion before ordering.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市西区 新町 1-25-18 レナジア新町ビル 1F
- Getting there:About 2 minutes from Nishi-Ohashi Exit 2, or 3 minutes from Yotsubashi Exit 2
- Reservations:No dine-in reservations. A takeaway preorder does not reserve a restaurant seat
- Tabelog score:3.72

15. Chuka Soba Uemachi (中華そば うえまち)
Chuka Soba Uemachi (中華そば うえまち) offers shoyu and shio chuka soba alongside tsukemen. It suits diners who want to choose the format of the meal rather than chase a limited release. Start by deciding between a complete soup bowl and separately served dipping noodles; limited chicken-and-pork versions are additional possibilities when offered.
The Uemachi address is approached from Tanimachi 6-chome, with different walking times from the station’s exits. Fit it into a Tanimachi neighbourhood walk rather than treating it as a restaurant inside Osaka Castle Park. Reservations are not accepted, so leave your next activity flexible if this follows a museum or sightseeing visit.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市中央区 上町 A番22号
- Getting there:About 4 minutes from Tanimachi 6-chome Exit 7 on the Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line side, or 6 minutes from Exit 1
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.75
16. Menya Joroku Namba (麺屋 丈六 なんば店)
Menya Joroku Namba (麺屋 丈六 なんば店) labels its chuka soba (中華そば) as Higashi-Osaka Takaida style, making it a useful starting point for regional shoyu ramen while staying in Namba. Other soup-noodle choices exist, but chuka soba is the straightforward way to approach the shop’s theme. A dark-looking broth alone is not a reliable measure of saltiness.
The shop is in the smaller streets of Namba-Sennichimae. Nankai Namba, Metro Namba and Nippombashi give different walks, so check your arrival station. Reservations are not accepted. Occasional Ohayo Ramen (おはようラーメン) morning events follow their own announcements and do not mean breakfast is served every day.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市中央区 難波千日前 6-16
- Getting there:About 5 minutes from Nankai Namba, 6 minutes from Nippombashi Exit 5, or 7 minutes from Metro Namba
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.73
17. Teuchi Men Yasuda (手打ち麺 やす田)
Teuchi Men Yasuda (手打ち麺 やす田) centres the meal on handmade noodles and dashi. Choose between iriko shio (イリコ塩), the dried-small-fish shio direction, and katsuo shoyu (カツオ醤油), the bonito-shoyu option. The names give you a useful ordering cue. It is worth allowing a short walk if you want your Shin-Osaka meal to extend beyond the station’s immediate dining options.
This shop is outside the East Exit, not inside the station. The four-minute walk excludes finding the exit, dealing with luggage and any queue. Reservations are not accepted and noodles or soup can sell out, so it works better with a generous window than directly before your Shinkansen departure.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市東淀川区 東中島 1-21-2 新大阪ハイツ106号
- Getting there:About 4 minutes from JR Shin-Osaka's East Exit, in unit 106 of Shin-Osaka Heights
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.73
18. Tokiya (時屋)

Tokiya (時屋) is a clear choice when tsukemen is the purpose of the meal. Compare Buta Tsuke (豚つけ) and Tori Tsuke (鶏つけ), the pork and chicken directions, then choose the noodle portion and toppings to match your appetite. The largest-looking special version does not have to be your default. It also changes the format after a run of soup-ramen meals.
The shop sits between Nishinakajima and Shin-Osaka, with Nishinakajima-Minamigata the closer Metro station. Reservations are not accepted. If you are catching a train afterward, allow for the queue and finding your platform again; visitors staying nearby may prefer to come at a less time-sensitive meal.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市淀川区 西中島 5-1-4 1F
- Getting there:About 4 minutes from Nishinakajima-Minamigata, 6 from Hankyu Minamikata, or 8 from JR Shin-Osaka
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.72
19. Chuka Soba Kirimen Sohonten (中華そば 桐麺 総本店)

Chuka Soba Kirimen Sohonten (中華そば 桐麺 総本店) is not limited to a single soup bowl. Its menu includes Kiritama (桐玉) alongside lighter and richer ramen and tsukemen choices. Look at Kiritama if the noodles themselves are your focus; compare the lighter assari (あっさり) and richer kotteri (こってり) options when you want to choose the direction of the broth or dipping sauce.
This is the main shop in Juso-Honmachi, not a similarly named Kirimen location elsewhere. It is an easy walk from Hankyu Juso and fits travellers already using Hankyu. Reservations are not accepted. Let staff direct the sequence of ticket purchase and waiting rather than assuming it matches the previous ramen shop you visited.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市淀川区 十三本町 2-1-6
- Getting there:About 2 minutes from Hankyu Juso, in Juso-Honmachi 2-chome
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.73

20. Menya Fukuhara (麺や 福はら)

Make Menya Fukuhara (麺や 福はら) a dedicated stop for Hojun Tori Soba (芳醇鶏そば), the shop’s chicken ramen, with shio and shoyu as two ways to approach its chicken-broth theme. Pepper and sansho variations or limited bowls may also appear. On a first visit, the basic chicken-soba direction is a useful target rather than feeling obliged to chase whichever special is attracting attention.
Shin-Imazato is within Osaka City but on its eastern side. Plan around Kintetsu Imazato: the Kintetsu and Osaka Metro stations sharing that name are not the same place. Reservations are not accepted. Treat this as a purposeful meal stop rather than a casual detour in the middle of Namba shopping.
- Address:大阪府 大阪市生野区 新今里 5-1-8
- Getting there:About 4 minutes from Kintetsu Imazato, or 10 minutes from Metro Shoji; do not confuse Kintetsu and Metro Imazato
- Reservations:No reservations; follow the on-site queue instructions
- Tabelog score:3.72
Choose by the bowl you want
For chicken-based ramen
Compare Ramen Jinsei JET (ラーメン人生JET), Ramen Yashichi (らーめん弥七), Tori Soba Zagin Honten (鶏 soba 座銀 本店) and Menya Fukuhara (麺や 福はら). Chicken paitan and clear chicken broth are different directions, and a chicken-labelled bowl can also contain seafood stock. Ask about ingredients that matter to you.
For shoyu or miso
Sodaisho (総大醤), Menya Joroku Namba (麺屋 丈六 なんば店) and Chuka Soba Mugen (中華そば 無限) offer useful shoyu choices. Add Ramen Hayato (らーめん颯人) when you want miso alongside the city’s soy- and salt-seasoned bowls. Choose the seasoning first, then decide whether a special topping version fits your appetite.
For a dedicated tsukemen meal
Start by comparing Kadoya Shokudo Sohonten (カドヤ食堂 総本店), Tokiya (時屋) and Ikareta Noodle Fishtons (いかれたヌードル フィッシュトンズ). Noodles and dipping sauce are separate, so check the noodle portion before ordering. Gunjo (群青) works better when you are happy to choose from the day’s changing menu.
Build an Osaka ramen route that makes sense
Northern Umeda and Fukushima
Pair Nakatsu’s Mugi to Mensuke (麦と麺助) or Ramen Yashichi (らーめん弥七) with Chayamachi. JET, Moeyo Mensuke (燃えよ麺助) and Menkobo Sanku (烈志笑魚油 麺香房 三く) form a separate Fukushima meal choice. Chuka Soba Mugen (中華そば 無限) is in Ebie: sharing Fukushima Ward does not make all four shops one short walking circuit.
Tenma, Tenroku and Minamimorimachi
Sodaisho (総大醤), Rakunijin (洛二神) and Gunjo (群青) can anchor a meal near the Tenma shopping streets. Use Minamimorimachi for Ramen Hayato (らーめん颯人). Choose one main bowl and spread other snacks across the day rather than planning several full ramen meals in succession.
Honmachi, Shinsaibashi and Namba
Approach Chuka Soba Kazura (中華蕎麦 葛) from the Yotsubashi Line side of Honmachi, Tori Soba Zagin Honten (鶏 soba 座銀 本店) from Higobashi, Fishtons from Nishi-Ohashi or Yotsubashi, and Menya Joroku Namba (麺屋 丈六 なんば店) from Namba. These are different neighbourhood stops; choose the one aligned with that day’s shopping or walking plans.
Shin-Osaka, Juso and eastern Osaka
Teuchi Men Yasuda (手打ち麺 やす田) is outside Shin-Osaka’s East Exit, while Tokiya (時屋) is closer to Nishinakajima-Minamigata. Chuka Soba Kirimen Sohonten (中華そば 桐麺 総本店) fits a Hankyu Juso itinerary. Chuka Soba Uemachi (中華そば うえまち) uses Tanimachi 6-chome and Menya Fukuhara (麺や 福はら) uses Kintetsu Imazato; plan those eastern stops as their own routes.
Osaka ramen FAQ
Which shop should I choose for a first visit?
Choose a broth you want in the area you will already visit. Compare the two Nakatsu shops for northern Umeda, JET or Moeyo Mensuke (燃えよ麺助) for Fukushima, Menya Joroku Namba (麺屋 丈六 なんば店) for Namba, and Teuchi Men Yasuda (手打ち麺 やす田) or Tokiya (時屋) around Shin-Osaka depending on whether you want soup ramen or tsukemen.
How do ramen, tsukemen and abura soba differ?
Ramen normally places noodles in soup. Tsukemen serves noodles separately from the dipping broth. Abura soba or mazesoba is mixed with sauce rather than served in the same volume of soup. Names such as chuka soba and tori soba do not automatically mean buckwheat noodles.
Can I book these shops on Tabelog?
These 20 shops do not offer directly bookable ordinary seating on Tabelog. Mugi to Mensuke (麦と麺助) has separate paid queue priority through TableCheck, with special Saturday dinners announced separately. Ramen Yashichi (らーめん弥七) uses on-site numbered tickets. Neither queue arrangement is a reserved table.
How should I budget?
Use the current ticket machine or menu: price the basic bowl first, then eggs, chashu, extra noodles and rice. Special toppings and limited bowls can change the total. Do not treat a years-old menu photograph as a 2026 checkout price, and keep some yen cash available.
Can I eat ramen just before a Shinkansen?
Only with a generous time window. The station-to-shop walk does not include queuing, eating, collecting luggage or finding your platform again. Both Teuchi Men Yasuda (手打ち麺 やす田) and Tokiya (時屋) are outside the station. If departure is approaching, protect your train connection first.
What about vegetarian diets, avoiding pork or food allergies?
No shop here is labelled as vegetarian, halal or allergy-safe. A chicken, shio or shellfish name does not guarantee the absence of other animal ingredients. Explain your restrictions to the shop and confirm broth, seasoning, toppings and shared equipment before deciding.
