Shima Spain Village Christmas makes most sense as a theme-park day that continues into dusk. It is not a free Christmas market: rides, Spanish-style streets and character entertainment form the main visit, with a short Christmas-tree show as the finale. Travelling from Nagoya solely for one tree photograph is a much weaker proposition.

Build it into an Ise-Shima itinerary if you can spare an overnight stay. For a day trip, settle the return train and bus before arranging the final show. A winter illumination does not automatically mean late-night park opening.

The Christmas show is short, and only once a day

The park winter programme schedules the tree illumination show for November 21–December 25 in the 2026 Christmas season. It takes place on España Street, lasts approximately six minutes and runs once per day. Spanish Christmas music and projected imagery are the attraction, not an all-evening sequence of repeat performances.

Programme Published arrangement What it means for your visit
Christmas-tree show November 21–December 25; about six minutes, once daily Check the day’s programme immediately on arrival
Winter character show December 14, 2026–January 11, 2027; about 20 minutes, twice daily Not available throughout the whole Christmas period
Flamenco film December 14, 2026–January 11, 2027; about 25 minutes, once daily A screen presentation, not a live dance performance
Winter online passport Valid December 14, 2026–January 11, 2027 Buy no later than the day before admission

The singers credited for the tree-show soundtrack do not appear in person. Likewise, a January winter programme does not mean the Christmas show continues past December 25.

Photograph the setting, then watch the performance

Before the show, choose an unobtrusive position that includes both the tree and its street setting. Take an establishing photograph, then decide whether you want a short video or simply to watch. Six minutes is easily lost switching camera modes.

For families, one adult can record a brief clip while the other watches with the children. There is no need for everybody to film the entire performance. This is a suggested approach, not a promise of reserved photography space or an unobstructed view.

Arriving late solely to wait for dusk also sacrifices the value of the rest of the park. The rides, architecture and daytime entertainment should justify the journey before the Christmas finale is added.

Is the winter online ticket worth choosing?

Valid park admission is required; special meals, shopping and hotel dining need a separate budget. For visits within the winter-passport period, compare the actual prices rather than treating every family member as receiving the adult saving.

Category Winter online price Listed regular price
Adult ¥5,500 ¥5,900
Junior ¥4,650 ¥4,700
Child ¥4,050 ¥4,100
Senior ¥4,400 ¥4,700

The winter ticket must be purchased by the day before admission and applies from December 14, 2026 to January 11, 2027. Junior and child prices match the normal online ticket prices. Check the age bands and conditions of the chosen product when booking.

There is little reason to restructure an entire November holiday merely to access a later discount. Choose the right travel dates first, then find the appropriate ticket for them.

Getting there via Ugata

For a rail journey, use Kintetsu Ugata Station as the interchange for a bus to Shima Spain Village. Use the Ugata–park bus timetable. Some departures carry operating-day restrictions, so read the notes in both directions rather than assuming every late service runs on your date.

If Ise Jingu is also on your list, use the Nagoya–Ise transport guide to plan the regional journey, then give Ise and the park separate days where possible. Shrine visits, lunch, rides and a fixed dusk show compete for the same limited hours.

Drivers gain flexibility, but not extra hours or immunity from fatigue. The Nagoya car-rental guide helps compare pickup arrangements before a regional road trip.

A sensible day in the park

As an editorial planning estimate, allow most of a day or a full day. Start with your priority rides and performances, take a seated lunch, keep the afternoon flexible, and finish around the tree-show schedule.

Seasonal food includes Christmas-shaped pizza and churros alongside warming drinks. Choose a couple of items rather than making every limited-edition menu part of a compulsory checklist. Some desserts require a qualifying meal order, so read the menu conditions.

If your holiday is entirely city-based, the Nagoya illumination guide offers options without a separate regional journey. Shima Spain Village is more compelling when a full park day already fits your Ise-Shima plans.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tree show repeat throughout the evening?

No. The published arrangement is one performance daily, lasting about six minutes. Use the day’s programme to find its time.

Does Christmas entertainment continue after December 25?

Some winter shows continue until January 11, but the Christmas-tree show ends on December 25.

Can I see the tree without a park ticket?

The show is inside the theme park, so valid admission is required.

Can I buy the winter online passport on the day?

That particular offer is advance-only, with purchase required by the preceding day. Check ordinary admission products for a same-day decision.

Can I visit the hot spring after the park and still take a bus?

Check the date-specific return service first. The park timetable explicitly warns visitors using the hot spring after closing to consider their bus journey.
