Denpark’s Winter Festival in Anjo suits visitors wanting a Christmas tree, garden lights and selected-date fireworks in one evening. The previous edition used a Nordic Christmas setting and an eight-metre tree. Fireworks did not run every night, and the park did not close at 21:00 every day.
The 2026–27 winter program is still to come; the calendar below reviews 2025–26. Return transport matters especially after dark: the last connecting departure towards JR Anjo is listed at 16:59, with no nighttime buses. Check the timetable for your travel day. Arrange your return before committing to an evening visit.
Lighting hours are not a fireworks timetable
The 2025–26 edition featured Nordic-inspired Christmas decoration, an eight-metre tree and a combination of music, light and fireworks. The illuminations support a walk around the park; fireworks at the Water Stage follow a separate calendar.
| Historical 2025–26 arrangement | Details |
|---|---|
| Festival dates | November 21, 2025–January 12, 2026 |
| Lights begin | 16:30 |
| 21:00 closing | November 21; weekends and public holidays from November 22–December 21; December 22–30 |
| 20:00 closing | January 2–4, 2026 |
| Other open days | 19:00 closing |
| Closures | Normally Tuesdays, with December 23 and 30 exceptions; closed December 31 and January 1 |
This is an old-season calendar, not an annual rule. December 22 and 23, for example, fell within the later-closing period without appearing on the fireworks schedule. “Open until 21:00” does not automatically mean “fireworks at 20:00”.
The previous season’s 21 fireworks dates
The previous season scheduled 21 fireworks performances. Weekends and public holidays from November 22–December 21, 2025, plus December 24–30, started at 20:00. January 2–4, 2026 started earlier, at 19:20. December 24–30 used a special version.
Ordinary rain did not automatically cancel the show, but severe weather including thunderstorms or strong wind could. That is different from another outdoor event’s rain-cancellation rule. If fireworks determine your trip, check the operator’s notice on the day.
Families with noise-sensitive children can choose the tree and lights without waiting for the finale. A fireworks date is an option, not an obligation to complete every evening activity.
General admission and a family budget
For general admission, budget ¥700 for adults, ¥300 for elementary and junior-high pupils, free entry below elementary-school age, and ¥560 for visitors aged 65 or over with age identification. Check ticket types and conditions for any separate winter arrangements.
| Standard category | Listed price |
|---|---|
| Adult | ¥700 |
| Elementary or junior-high pupil | ¥300 |
| Below elementary-school age | Free |
| Age 65 or over | ¥560 with proof of age |
Two adults and one elementary-school child total ¥1,700 on standard admission, before food, workshops and separately charged facilities. Asoview electronic advance prices are listed at ¥650 for adults and ¥270 for pupils. Check the actual validity and conditions before buying. There is no general time-of-day discount: arriving in the evening does not itself create a half-price ticket.
Do not mistake daytime buses for evening transport
From JR Anjo, take a circular bus to Anjo Kosei Hospital, then transfer to the Nanbu or Sakurai Nishi route; check the bus routes and operating calendars. Meitetsu Sakurai and Minami-Sakurai also have relevant bus links; weekends and holidays have additional Meitetsu-bus arrangements requiring their own timetable check.
The last connecting departure towards JR Anjo is listed at 16:59, with no nighttime operation. “Bus there, same route back after fireworks” is therefore not a valid plan. Establish a car, confirmed collection or genuinely bookable taxi beforehand rather than assuming a taxi will appear when needed.
Parking is free. The approximately five-minute drive from Izumi Interchange on the Route 23 Chiryu Bypass is only the final road section, not the total journey from Nagoya. Compare driving needs with the Nagoya car-rental guide and the railway portion with the transport guide.
Access changes and a manageable family evening
Roadside-station renovation brought a detour from car parks 2 and 4 to the main gate, not a whole-park closure. See the car-park access update for the route in use. Check the latest map, especially with a stroller, rather than relying on an old entrance photograph.
Allow about 90 minutes for the lights as a planning estimate, then extend for dinner, activities or a fireworks wait. A break between daytime play and evening viewing can matter more than adding another attraction. The Nagoya family-attractions guide helps distribute activities across the trip. For alternatives without a suburban late-night transfer, compare the Nagoya illumination guide.
Frequently asked questions
Were fireworks held every night?
No. The previous season had 21 listed shows, with different December and January start times.
Is evening admission automatically discounted?
No. The general fee page excludes time-of-day discounts. An electronic advance-ticket offer is a separate arrangement.
Can I take a bus to JR Anjo after fireworks?
There is no nighttime bus; the last connecting departure towards JR Anjo is listed at 16:59. Arrange a different evening return.
Does any rain cancel fireworks?
Not automatically. The operator distinguishes normal rain from severe weather and may cancel accordingly.
Is the eight-metre tree confirmed for the new season?
It belonged to the 2025–26 edition. New seasonal decoration requires a new announcement.
