Should you visit the Shin-Toyosu or Shiba Park venue for Tokyo Christmas Market 2026? Start with your travel dates and where you are staying. From November 20 to December 3, Shin-Toyosu is the only option. The two venues overlap from December 4 onward.
If you are staying in central Tokyo, travelling with older family members or simply want to minimise walking, Shiba Park near Onarimon is usually easier to fit into the day. If your itinerary already includes Toyosu or the Tokyo Bay area, Shin-Toyosu is the more natural choice.
These are two different venues. Do not rely on older directions for previous Tokyo Christmas Market locations around Jingu Gaien or Shinanomachi. The information below was checked against official information on September 30, 2026. Ticket categories, free admission for children, gifts and refund conditions that have not been officially announced are not assumed in this guide.
Tokyo Christmas Market 2026: Shin-Toyosu vs Shiba Park
| Comparison | Shin-Toyosu | Shiba Park |
|---|---|---|
| Event dates | 2026/11/20–12/25 | 2026/12/4–12/25 |
| Regular opening hours | 11:00–21:30 | 11:00–22:00 |
| Opening day | Nov 20, 16:00–21:30 | Dec 4, 16:00–22:00 |
| Last entry | 20:30 | 21:00 |
| Last food order | 21:00 | 21:30 |
| Nearest station | About 2 min from Shin-Toyosu Station | About 1 min from Onarimon Station Exit A6 |
| Best fit | Toyosu and Tokyo Bay itineraries | Central Tokyo and travellers wanting less walking |
The simplest way to choose: if you are visiting in late November, go to Shin-Toyosu. From December 4 onward, choose according to where you will already be that day. There is little reason to cross Tokyo purely because one venue seems more popular; hotel location and the journey back usually make a bigger practical difference.
Shin-Toyosu: Dates, Tickets and Access
The Shin-Toyosu venue runs from November 20 to December 25, 2026. On opening day, November 20, it is open from 16:00 to 21:30. On other event days, opening hours are 11:00–21:30. Last entry is at 20:30, while the last food order is at 21:00.
| Date | Published Admission Price |
|---|---|
| Nov 20–Dec 23, weekdays | ¥1,000 |
| Nov 20–Dec 23, weekends and holidays | ¥1,500 |
| Dec 24–25 | ¥2,000 |
The most direct route is via the Yurikamome Line to Shin-Toyosu Station, followed by a walk of about 2 minutes. Shijo-mae Station is another option, approximately 4 minutes away on foot.
One transport detail is easy to miss: the Yurikamome is not a regular Tokyo Metro or Toei Subway line. Do not assume that an ordinary subway pass automatically covers your journey to Shin-Toyosu. Check the validity of the specific pass you are using before travelling.
The official event information states that there is no car parking or bicycle parking at the venue, so plan to arrive by public transport.
Shiba Park: Dates, Tickets and Access
The Shiba Park venue is held at Tokyo Metropolitan Shiba Park Block 4, around the plaza in front of Onarimon Station. It runs from December 4 to December 25, 2026.
On opening day, December 4, the venue operates from 16:00 to 22:00. Regular opening hours on the remaining event days are 11:00–22:00. Last entry is at 21:00 and the last food order is at 21:30.
| Date | Published Admission Price |
|---|---|
| Dec 5–23, weekdays | ¥1,000 |
| Dec 5–23, weekends and holidays | ¥1,500 |
| Dec 24–25 | ¥2,000 |
The December 4 opening-day price is not listed in the published price table above. Do not automatically apply the December 5 onward pricing. Check the official ticket page before visiting.
The closest station is Onarimon Station on the Toei Mita Line. From Exit A6, the venue is about a 1-minute walk away. Other options listed by the organiser include Kamiyacho Station Exit 3, Daimon Station Exit A6 and the North Exit of JR Hamamatsucho Station, each approximately 10 minutes away on foot.
As at Shin-Toyosu, there is no dedicated car or bicycle parking at the venue.
Which Venue Is Better for Families and Older Travellers?
| Situation | Easier Choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Travelling with older family members or minimising walking | Shiba Park | About 1 minute from Onarimon Exit A6 |
| Travelling with children and already visiting Toyosu | Shin-Toyosu | Easy to combine with a Tokyo Bay itinerary |
| Using a stroller | Choose by hotel location | Both have short walks from their nearest stations; avoiding unnecessary cross-city transfers matters more |
| Want an easier journey back to the hotel | Choose the venue with fewer transfers | You can leave either market early rather than staying until closing |
Families should check the current ticketing page before purchasing for the applicable child age limits, admission conditions and ticket categories. Do not assume that free-child policies from previous editions still apply.
How to Avoid Rushing at Closing Time
The most useful rule is simple: do not treat the last-entry time as your recommended arrival time.
Shin-Toyosu stops admitting visitors at 20:30 and takes its final food orders at 21:00. At Shiba Park, last entry is 21:00 and the last food order is 21:30. Arriving just before the cutoff may technically get you through the gate, but it leaves very little time to browse the market and order food.
If you want the evening Christmas atmosphere, schedule the market for early evening rather than rushing there immediately before closing. It also helps to decide your return station in advance. At Shin-Toyosu, account for the Yurikamome connection to JR or subway services. At Shiba Park, using Onarimon Station as your main arrival and departure point keeps walking to a minimum.
Two Easy Half-Day Itineraries
Option 1: Toyosu + Shin-Toyosu Christmas Market
Afternoon in Toyosu → Shin-Toyosu Station in the early evening → Tokyo Christmas Market → return to your hotel.
This route works particularly well if the Tokyo Bay area is already part of your itinerary. You avoid making a separate cross-city journey just for the Christmas market, while arriving around early evening still leaves enough time to browse and eat without watching the clock.
Before heading back, check how you will connect from the Yurikamome to your onward JR or subway route.
Option 2: Central Tokyo + Shiba Park Christmas Market
Afternoon sightseeing in central Tokyo → Onarimon Station in the early evening → Shiba Park Christmas Market → return to your hotel.
This is generally easier to combine with a day based around Ginza, Shimbashi, Tokyo Station or other central districts. When travelling with older family members, use Onarimon Station Exit A6 as your navigation point rather than simply entering “Shiba Park,” which covers a much larger area.
If you also want to see winter illuminations that evening, see our Tokyo winter illumination guide and combine locations that make geographical sense rather than squeezing several cross-city attractions into one night.
Tokyo Christmas Market 2026 FAQ
1. Which Tokyo Christmas Market should first-time visitors choose?
Start with your dates and hotel location. From November 20 to December 3, Shin-Toyosu is the only one of these two venues operating. From December 4 onward, Shiba Park is convenient if your itinerary is concentrated in central Tokyo or you want to minimise walking, while Shin-Toyosu fits naturally into a Toyosu or Tokyo Bay day.
2. Which venue is closest to a station?
Shiba Park is about a 1-minute walk from Onarimon Station Exit A6. Shin-Toyosu is approximately 2 minutes from Shin-Toyosu Station or around 4 minutes from Shijo-mae Station. Both are close to public transport, although reaching Shin-Toyosu may require an additional Yurikamome connection depending on where you are coming from.
3. What is the latest time I can enter?
Last entry is 20:30 at Shin-Toyosu and 21:00 at Shiba Park. The respective last food-order times are 21:00 and 21:30. If you want enough time to browse and eat, plan to arrive well before those cutoffs.
4. Are tickets more expensive on December 24 and 25?
According to the currently published prices, admission is ¥2,000 at both venues on December 24 and 25. Weekday and weekend/holiday prices differ on the other listed dates. The Shiba Park opening-day price for December 4 is not included in the published price table above, so check the official ticket page rather than assuming the standard rate applies.
5. Can I use a Tokyo subway pass to reach Shin-Toyosu?
Do not assume that you can. Shin-Toyosu and Shijo-mae stations are on the Yurikamome Line, rather than the Tokyo Metro or Toei Subway networks. Check the coverage of your specific transport pass before travelling.
6. Can I follow old directions for the Tokyo Christmas Market at Jingu Gaien?
No. The Tokyo Christmas Market 2026 venues covered here are Shin-Toyosu and Shiba Park, not the former Shinanomachi or Jingu Gaien area. Plan your journey using the current official access information for Shin-Toyosu, Shijo-mae or Onarimon stations.
Which Tokyo Christmas Market Fits Your Itinerary?
The two Tokyo Christmas Market 2026 venues suit different itineraries. Shin-Toyosu works particularly well for late-November visits and days already focused on Toyosu or the Tokyo Bay area. Shiba Park is easier to combine with central Tokyo sightseeing and offers an especially short walk from Onarimon Station.
Once you have chosen a venue, work backwards from your journey home and the last-entry time. Shin-Toyosu stops entry at 20:30, while Shiba Park stops entry at 21:00. Giving yourself enough time inside the market is more useful than crossing Tokyo simply to visit the venue that appears more popular.
If Tokyo is only one stop on a wider winter trip, see our Japan Christmas markets guide to compare other cities. If you are staying in Tokyo, the Tokyo winter illumination guide can help you plan another evening around locations that fit your route.
Before travelling, check the official Tokyo Christmas Market Shin-Toyosu page and the official Shiba Park event page for the latest ticketing information and day-of-visit arrangements.
